Chaitali Somadder is an award-winning independent filmmaker, video editor, and educator based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. With over a decade of industry experience, she holds a Masters from the University of Dhaka and a Postgraduate Diploma in Film Editing from the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) in India. Her celebrated short film, Mariyam, won “The Best Short Film” at the 2023 National Film Awards, adding to a portfolio of critically acclaimed and internationally recognized projects. Dedicated to mentoring the next generation of visual storytellers, she currently teaches film and media at the Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and Stamford University Bangladesh.
