Krishnendu has been making documentaries on wildlife conservation for the last three decades. His films have been broadcast all over the world and have won top international awards and the, National Award of India in 2017. His film, The Latent City, film on Public Art and the City, won the Grand Prix at Document.Art film Festival in Romania. Missing, his film on women and climate change, won the best director award at the Casselle film festival, Italy in 2014. He is the recipient of the UNEP Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009. His film The Tiger Who Crossed the Line, was premiered on Discovery Channel in 2017 and received the National Award for the best environment film in 2017. He was also invited to the UN for a talk on “Conservation in India”in 2018.
He is the Indian Ambassador and the jury member for the Asian Academy Awards, Singapore. He has produced and line produced international award-winning Television shows and his company Earthcare Productions has won an Emmy for the American reality show The Amazing Race. Shadows in The Dark is his first fiction short, and Bay of Blood is his latest international docu feature.
